Ignacio del Moral Vicente – Mazariegos

Dr. Ignacio del Moral is a consultant anesthesiologist and a key figure in the expansion of clinical simulation in Latin America. He led the Valdecilla Virtual Hospital for more than a decade, positioning it as an international benchmark in simulation-based training.

He currently coordinates the Spanish-language programs at the Center for Medical Simulation (Harvard/MGH), training instructors in methodologies focused on reflective learning, patient safety, and teamwork. A pioneer in the incorporation of technologies such as virtual reality, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence in simulated environments, he has also been CEO of organizations dedicated to innovation in healthcare. He has more than 70 scientific publications and an outstanding track record as an international speaker.

Marcia Maldonado Holtheuer

Marcia Maldonado Holtheuer is a registered nurse from the University of Chile and holds a master’s degree in Higher Education from the Andrés Bello University (UNAB). She is an assistant professor in the Nursing and Medicine programs at Diego Portales University, where she also serves as director of the Center for Simulation, Innovation, and Interdisciplinary Training (CESIFI) in the Faculty of Health and Dentistry. She has a diploma in Simulation-Based Teaching and is a certified clinical simulation instructor from the Center for Medical Simulation, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. In addition, she is a Level 1 and Level 2 EUSIM instructor, a basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) instructor for the American Heart Association, and a TALK debriefing instructor. She currently serves as secretary general of the LATAM division of the TALK Foundation and is president of the Chilean Society of Clinical Simulation (SOCHISIM).

Paul A. Iaizzo

Dr. Paul Iaizzo is a professor in the Departments of Surgery, Integrative Biology and Physiology, and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He is also director of Visible Heart^® Laboratories, a pioneering center for cardiac research applied to medical device design, and leads the Malignant Hyperthermia Diagnostic Center.

He has trained more than 200 students, published more than 290 scientific articles and 100 book chapters, and has been widely recognized for his leadership in biomedical innovation. His distinctions include being a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), the Heart Rhythm Society, and a Senior Fellow of the IEEE. His work combines basic science, engineering, and education, influencing clinical practice globally.
